Based on the establishment of Qianhai Maritime & Logistics Arbitration Center in 2015, Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) was approved to establish the SCIA Maritime Arbitration Centre as a professional branch.
In accordance with the Arbitration Law of the People's Republic of China and the Ordinance on Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, as approved by the Second Council of SCIA at its eighteenth meeting, the new SCIA Panel of Arbitrators became effective from 21 February 2022. The new panel includes 117 arbitrators specialized in maritime affairs from 22 countries and regions. Besides, in view of the special characteristics of maritime, logistics, and shipping-related businesses and the special need of foreign and domestic market entities for the dispute settlement in this specific field, SCIA formulated the SCIA Rules of Maritime and Logistics Arbitration.
